Phillip Day is a lifelong resident of Carteret County.  His origin is Cedar Island.  Growing up a Minister's son, the family moved throughout the county as his father pastored several churches. His mother is a local author with 8 books written on local history.  Growing up Phillip went to many of the counties schools and grew to know many people in Carteret and Craven Counties.  Those who know him consider him a very respectable person with a very caring heart.  His face and his tone say "I Care".

Phillip has 5 children, 3 of whom he adopted.  His heart led him to go to Brazil to adopt 2 of these children when they were in their early teens.  Besides adopting the children he has brought other teens and adults into his home to help them in times of need.  He would try to help them along the way to get their feet back on solid ground.  When they would get in trouble, he would use local bondsman to bond them.

Phillip retired from Civil Service in 2008.  When not working on his and Cindy's yard or home, he likes using his "spare" time helping those in need. If he sees someone working in their yard, clearing debris, etc, he is not shy about stopping and asking if they need help. 

After using bail bonding services in the area Phillip discovered that most bondsman were in the business mainly for the money.  Although they seemed very professional,  they were not very understanding or caring of a client's needs.  This led him to thinking about becoming a Bail Bondsman.

In 2011 Phillip got the opportunity to work with a bondsman who has bail bonding businesses throughout NC.  Phillip attended the required schooling, took the state exam, and acquired his license in September 2011.  He set up business from his home under the name 1st Choice Bail Bonding Company.
